As our largest fundraiser of the year, the Greater Charlotte Buddy Walk provides about 50% of the needed resources for the Down Syndrome Association of Greater Charlotte to fulfill its mission. Every day we make meaningful strides to foster inclusion and to celebrate the lives of people with Down syndrome. There is no better place to show your support than at UNCC's Jerry Richardson Stadium on October 10th at our 23rd Annual Greater Charlotte Buddy Walk!
It's never to early to register your team and get started recruiting participants to come out in October and share in a wonderful celebration with the community.

Learn more about the important work we are doing for people with Down syndrome in 2019 because of your generous support.
The Buddy Walk, developed by the National Down Syndrome Society (NDSS) in 1995 to celebrate October, National Down Syndrome Awareness Month, and provide an annual public platform for advocacy, is a one-mile walk in which anyone can participate without special training. Hundreds of thousands of people walk from coast to coast and around the world each year. The goal of the Buddy Walk is three-fold: to promote acceptance and inclusion of people with Down syndrome; to raise the funds necessary to develop innovative and effective programs; and to enhance the position of the Down syndrome community, enabling us to positively influence local and national policy and practice.
For those of you who are new to our Greater Charlotte festivities, the Buddy Walk is a short (approximately 1/2 mile) stroll starting and finishing on the football field of Jerry Richardson Stadium. The routine begins on the field, takes you around the perimeter of the stadium and returns you back to the field for our post-walk activities and entertainment. Don't forget to kick off our morning as gates open promptly at 9am. The Buddy Walk ceremony begins on the field at 10:15am and the walk itself begins around 11:00am - leading us to our Buddy World activities and afterparty. The event wraps up around 1pm. Music, activities for all ages, food and beverage are all a part of the fun!
THANK YOU FOR HELPING TO SUPPORT OUR MISSION!
See you in October!
